I daresay X360 would have won the war.
The Wii itself, not necessarily Nintendo is why I disliked the Wii. I have almost no interest in 1st party games from either camp. A SONY Wii, a horribly underpowered console, with clunky (imo) motion controls as the primary input device. Third party multi-plat RPGs, the games that I buy, would be inferior to the versions on the X360. So I would not have bought heavily into a SONY Wii.
Likewise a Nintendo PS3 (sic) would probably have had the same problems the Nintendo Wii did. Almost zero RPGs. The Wii had Xenoblade chronicles, really what else? I doubt they would have had much more given Nintendos track record with 3rd party studios. Lack of good 3rd party RPGs, a complete lack of synergy with how Nintendo does things. So I would not have bought heavily into a Nintendo PS3.
Thus the choice would have been largly in X360s favor by default.
Keep in mind I ended up owning all three consoles. My PS3 library is significantly greater than the other two though.

The Last Story, Pandora's Tower, Fire Emblem, Super Paper Mario, Arc Rise Fantasia, Fragile Dreams, Tales of Symphonia 2, and a few others.

Actually yeah. That does change things a bit. The problem with the Wii RPGs is that very few used the pro controller (a must imo for a legit RPG on the Wii). But a Nintendo PS3 would all be using a 'pro' controller instead of the lame motion controller. So there could be a few more RPGs that would work. Though the notion that Super Paper Mario, Arc Rise Fantasia, and Fire Emblem would be comparable to the likes of the Fallout, Souls, other Tales, and Final Fantasy are pretty laughable (again imo).

Pamdora's Tower, The Last Story, and Xenoblade had pro controller support. Arc Rise Phantasia and Fire Emblem had pro controller and gamecube controller support. Tales of Symphonia only supported the Wiimote and Nunchuck, but it didin't use any motion controls. Super Paper Mario and Fragile Dreams were the only two with manditory motion controls. I didn't play any other Wii RPG's, so I can't comment on them.
I'm not saying the Wii had a bigger library of RPGs than the PS3 by a long shot.. But it did get a few gems, and almost all of them offer multiple control options for those who don't like motion controls.
As far as quality goes.. that's all just opinion. I thought, FF13 I-III, Tales of Symphonia 2, Tales of Graces, Star Ocean, and Pandora's Tower were terrible and should have never been made. Sofar I've loved Xenoblade, The Last Story, Valkyria Chronicles, Resonence of Fate, and Arc Rise Phantasia were amazing.
