In the gaming community it is largly considered the greatest jrpg of last gen, and while Final Fantasy VII was once considered the greatest jrpg of its gen it's largly now considered overrated.

Yes, just like every other successful game ever. The word overrated is synonym for "critics and masses love this but I don't, which makes it not as good as they say". Who's to say what's overrated? Anyway, let's agree to disagree because there is no point disussing here if we're both just gonna keep repeating the same thing over and over again.
