GamrConnect Wii U Recommendation Thread

Hi everyone, although this is my first ever post I have been following these forums for a while.

I have just decided to dive in to the new generation (Getting a PS4 and Wii U next month) and I needed some help regarding my Wii U purchase as I have never purchased a Nintendo home console before

I wanted to make this into a seperate topic but it wasnt allowed :( , would request mods to please shift the post to appropriate topic if required.

I had the following questions and I would appreciate any help on the same:

1. As I am planning to buy the Zelda Bundle, would the system software on the console be updated as well?
2. Do Wii U game discs contain system software updates? (Like in the case of Ps3 discs?)
3. Can Wii titles such as Mario galaxy etc be downloaded from the eshop and stored on my external hard drive?
4. Can system software updates by stored on USB sticks and then transferred to the consoles?

I would greatly appreciate any help.
