I think the Wii U will continue to hold second place for another 6-8 months until all those XBox Ones are due to have hardware failures that will force people to re-buy. At that point, sales of XBox One will catapult it to second place.
Wish I was joking but that's more or less the only reason the 360 held its own in the last generation.
