looks great in a lot of respects. half of me want to play it but the other half knows that i don't enjoy turned based rpgs. ..but for fans of the genre it looks like a real gem.

You can always play it on Story difficulty (or Casual or whatever), enjoy the plot and the characters without caring that much for the turn-basing thing :)

maybe if there is a lull then.  as is i've got quite the backlog anyways.  i'd much rather play transistor for instance.

You end up playing turn based combat in Transistor too, but you get to run around waiting for your next 'turn' and there is a function that you can use while your turn gage fills.

Both are great games, Transistor edges ahead for me. Child of light has the better end boss though, Transistor's didn't pose any challenge. Song at the end credits more than makes up for it, plus ng+ is fun and more challenges to unlock :)

correct me if i'm wrong but..

transistor is turned based in a way like valkyria chronicles (a game i loved) while chile of light is turn based like final fantasy (a franchise i hate).

those maybe is similar but the free roam aspects is an important distinguisher for me.
