Naturally, Americans prefer Xbox over Playstation but due to the huge 100$ price difference we saw PS4 doing much better. But from now on I predict that Xbox One will outsell PS4 every week in the US. Currently Xbox One is at 2,866,704 sold in US, PS4 is at 3,285,850 How many weeks until Xbox One will officially take over US from PS4? |
Such presumption..., "Naturally, Americans prefer Xbox over Playstation" ....?
How did you end up with that conclusion???? Maybe YOU prefer XB over PS??? You, very conveniently, forgot to mention that X360 was $200 cheaper than PS3, which was the main reason why it triumphed over PS3 last gen. The previous gen (6th) though, PS2 had triumphed over XB although they both were similarly priced.
Americans are way less brand-loyal (than Europe and Japan) as some may suggest but they are very sensitive to
- Price
- Media
- Social Networking
Now the price field is even but there has been huge waves of negative publicity for XB, and PS4 tends to gather more people with a greater momentum. I believe it will be a close call in US, though, being more powerful, having more consistent policies, more upcoming exclusives, and slightly more built-up memontum, and finally more media coverage (due to international domination and being the lead development platform), PS4 will still lead in US (though by a relatively small margin, like 45%-55%)
