Sony won't lose E3 because they will watch MS' conference first and ensure that their conference has an equal number of announcements. The difference will be when you compared lineups through 2014.
MS will probably have more and stronger "new" content lined up for 2014. Sony will have some "new" content, but fans will focus on the release of The Last of Us because they already know it is a great game. So Sony fans will think Sony won E3 and MS fans will think that MS won E3.
The status quo will be achieved and sites like this will continue to have fan wars in forum threads exactly like this.
