Gran Turismo fans still have around 12 months to wait for a full sequel to appear on PS3, according to SCEA.

"Also, to further clarify, GT5 is still about a year away. You should just decide now to buy it, enjoy it, go online and race against anyone and everyone, rank number one worldwide, get the girl (or guy) and become the most popular kid in town. The end.", Chris Hinojosa-Miranda, associate producer, SCEA, has said.

The last we heard on a release date for GT5 came from the mouth of the game's director Kaunori Yamauchi who said it could be pushed back as far as late 2008. Seems he needed to add a few months on top.

Still, at least GT5 Prologue is out tomorrow.

Why should we decide to buy it now if we don't haven't even read any reviews?  I do that for *very* few games.

GT5 wouldn't make you the most popular kid in town.  I've sat around with some friends playing Gran Turismo 3 right after the PS2 was released in North America, and it was pretty fun.  But it doesn't come close to the blast that the same group of friends and I had with Smash Brothers.

So if you want to be the most popular kid in town, wouldn't you get Smash Brothers Brawl and instead of deciding to get GT5 more than a year from now?
