Honestly, we shouldn't have to give it time. By April of the Wii's second year, it already had LoZ: Twilight Princess, Super Mario Galaxy, Metroid Prime 3: Corruption, Mario Kart Wii, and Super Smash Bros. Brawl. By april of the Wii U's second year, it had Wonderful 101, Super Mario 3D World, Pikmin 3, and Donkey Kong Country: Tropical Freeze. Compared to the Wii, that's absolutely pitiful.
The only next gen game I've seen so far is No Man's Sky. Everything else is a retread or not here yet. And the PS4/XBO drought are just as bad as the Wii U's was last year. No amount of last gen ports can fix that.
