Good? So now 4xMSAA with GT5 is only good? The real problem is that Wii U is in fact weaker than even PS360, easily. Comparisons with multiplats games and exclusive 720p60fps like MK8 vs GT5 and Forza 4 are really telling. Wii U hardware is such a disappointement. But really we always knew with the specs on paper: similar/weaker GPU (176Gflops vs PS3 192gflops and X360 240gflops) and much more weaker CPU a PowerPC tricore 1.2ghz for Wii U versus a PowerPC tricore 3.2ghz for X360, PS3 has one core PowerPC at 3.2ghz + 6 SPE at 3.2ghz. The Wii U CPU is so weak it has to dedicate one whole frame, 16ms, every ~second to compute AI trajectories in MK8, causing a constant micro-stuttering. Hopefully it has a few great games. A real dedicated Mario and Zelda box. |
Good like... you know, good... not like bad. There is the average standard AA, and this one is in the good range. And it cost and render better than no AA. Call it excellent if you will.
About the Wii U specs, we don't know so much, do we ? Twice as much but not so fast memory, a lot weaker cpu, quite a lot of esram (for this hardware range) is about all we know for sure. The PS4 and Xbox one also made a choice for a (still a lot better but ) weak CPU, so it could make sense. For the GPU, it could be better just by being newer, with more advanced features. Even for clearly known hardware like PS3 and XBox 360 there had some incertitude given the strong and weak points of each architecture.
