People use the term "aged well," but imo, some of the games may have never been good at all and it took them going back to it being able to realize it.

Dragon Warrior was the first JRPG I've played and the only reason I loved it back then is because just that. It was the first JRPG I've played, but replaying it later on when I got Dragon Warrior 1 and 2 for the GBC, the game was pretty bad. The game was never very good, but how was I to have known not playing any other games.

I don't share people's opinions on games like Resident Evil 1 and 2 though. Resident Evil 1 even when it was released had that weird issue when shooting your gun. If someone was to call out the game, it would have been immediately after playing it, but despite that flaw, it's still a good game. Resident Evil 2 fixed the whole issue with the delay in shooting your gun. The tank controls really don't effect the games either.

Other than Dragon Warrior being the first JRPG I've played and being biased over that,, there's not really any games that I have good memories about that I don't remember them with how I originally played.
