So you are then saying that the experience on a handheld is the same as a livingroom console? ........

I'm saying the handheld experience is more than adequate for delivering the Nintendo experience audiences desire.

So then your point is Nintendo do not need a living room console, meaning the Wii U is redundant?

in previous generations, no. when comparing 3DS and Wii U, yes the experiences are very similar. In terms of hardware and software both devices share many silmilarities which i believe is one factor in Wii U's  poor sales.

In terms of hardware. Lol. Please, do explain.

Gladly, in previous generations there were huge gaps in power when it came to Nintendo handhelds and consoles. Gameboy could only display 4 shades of gray while SNES had 32,000 colors and minimal 3D graphics, GBC/GBA were solely 2D while N64/GC primarily featured 3D games. Last gen DS could render 3D worlds but was still primarily 2D and utilized touch/dual screen controls while Wii once again was fully capable of 3D and utilized motion controls.

That brings us to 3DS/Wii U which are much closer in terms of visuals plus both have dual screens, motion controls, touch screen. Basically the only major difference is stereoscopic 3D vs HD.
