Metro games do an amazing job at captivating the post-apocaliptic, desolated atmosphere.

STALKER: Shadow of chernobyl blows any game people have mentioned here away, most atmospheric and underrated FPS ever. Some fo the metro guys came from the Stalker team.

I know, but STALKER is a different kind of apocaliptic atmosphere.

 

One on which I might add there's NO WOMEN :P

Pretty sure Call of Pripyat had women, unless my memory is failing which is possible.
