Those games are sitting above the 90 barrier and they released in 2014. Cross-gen is allowed, right? You did mention Titanfall in your OP.

no, i should of pointed that out. Titanfall is really a next gen game, thats why i added it up there :0

What's that even mean for you? some people still doing that? Counting only games with such or such criterion? Any games released on next gen system is a next gen game, period. Because Titanfall released on 2 other systems too, so it's technically a cross-gen game.

In fact the 2 best 2014 games (by metacritic) released on the 3 next gen system this year are Rayman legends (XB1/PS4) and Fez on PS4. People don't care if their games are indie, digital or multiplat. Please stop with this arbitrary fanboy discrimination. Those are still incredible great games available on the machines, and gamers know it. Fez not even available on Wii U and XB1 and it's IMO, really the best game released this year so far.

And BTW the system having the most +80 metacritic games this year (and easily) is PS4.

Number of +80 games released this year:

- Wii U -> 4

- XB1 -> 6

- PS4 -> 13

PS4 has no games, remember?

A list please? Gamerankings shows just 6 80+ PS4 games for PS4...
http://www.gamerankings.com/browse.html?site=ps4&cat=0&year=2014&numrev=0&sort=0&letter=&search=

I think for this kind of threads should be a break on retail or digital only releases. That will be able to get rid of small games, which can be good for 5 bucks but not equal to its 60 bucks competitors.

It's a thread about metacritic scores (implied with the specific metacritic scores written in the OP) released in 2014:

http://www.metacritic.com/browse/games/release-date/available/ps4/metascore

- Fez : 90

- Rayman Legends: 90

- Towerfall : 87

- FF14 : 86

- Transistor : 85

- Tomb Raider DE : 85

- MLB 14: The Show : 83

- Child of light : 82

- Sportsfriends : 82

- SteamWorld Dig : 82

- Star wars Pinbal : 80

- Trials fusion : 80

- Infamous Second Son : 80

Again, why choose any criteria? Games are games. One of the most played and sold PS3 game is currently Minecraft which is a cross-gen/multiplat game and until a few days only available digitaly on PS3. And it's a known system seller (like AAA exclusive game MK8), notably seen with the X360 version.

In the mind of gamers, there are not differences between exclusive, cross-gen, next-gen, multiplat, digital only etc. If a game is great, it will sell systems, like Minecraft (cross-gen multiplat) on X360 and probably MK8 (exclusive next gen) on Wii U.
