The NES was the first console I bought with money that I saved, though it was money that came to me via Christmas and Birthdays.
The PS1 was the first console I bought with money that I earned. I worked at the family restaurant. Even though I actually worked for free, my mom would kick a little toward me now and then and I certainly feel that I earned it.
I could be wrong about this, but I think the first game I bought with money that I earned was Suikoden. I remember that the local rental store was selling it for like $3, I think because no one ever rented it, so I bought it. One of the best decisions I've ever made.
