Do you think Microsoft has pissed off the industry like how Sega did with the Saturn?

SEGA dropped a system they could perfectly kept supporting for more years (The saturn). They disappointed publishers and customers.

Microsoft just pissed off the early adopters a bit. Maybe they annoyed a few publishers a bit, but i'm sure they understand that it benefits them more in the long run.

Wasn't the Saturn doing worse in the West and Wii U and Vita and people are calling it over for those systems already? I know by 1998 you could barely get hold of Saturn software anywhere in the UK and I got mine pre owned for £30 with 5 games before the Dreamcst even launched. Why on earth would a company as cash strapped as Sega continue to flog such a dead horse? Cutting their losses and looking to the "next gen" really was their only shot.
