I'd purchase a beefy CPU and emulate on an HD TV. I'd then buy four Xbox One controllers (they're not compatible with PCs yet, but they will be). As of now you can get emulators all the way up to PS3, 360, and Wii.
I would want to go retro, but with a dead gaming market consoles would be in high demand. In fact I'd probably sell my consoles to get the funds for the CPU.
