So I just went back to Ryse since I had been playing a lot of Second Son and honestly Ryse does look better. It has FAR superior texture work and more complex geometry.

That being said Second Son has better lighting and its open world. Its kinda hard to compare the two honestly but in terms of higher fidelity assets Ryse beats Second Son

Looking at the screenshots you posted I find Ryse's background rather poor

Pretty blurry low res textures on the bridge and ground / rocks. Ryse's characters look amazing, but the geometry and background are lacking imo.
Your Infamous SS picture look more impressive to me.

Infamous has better texture detail on distanct objects but less complex geometry, thats why I see Ryses geometry as superior. Infamous is mostly straight lines on most surfaces. Ryse utilizes a lot of vegetation, water, different levels of terrain, etc.

Like I said they bith for sure have their strengths and weaknesses and I think as a whole Infamous is probably more impressive due to its level of fidelity in an open world.

Ryse however gives you more of a "Wow" feeling when you see it in motion between the two imo.

Couldn't agreewith you more. What really impressed me with Ryse was the Minotaur boss fight.  I'm not a graphics guru like yourself  but the best way I can describe it is that the details/lighting were superb (especially the way the flames reflected off the rocks on the ground).
