Macs are more expensive. But I'm still a mac user for two main reasons.
1: OSX. I'm a big fan.
2: Exclusive software. Software like shake is only on the mac.
BTW I do own a mac pro, mainly because it was the perfect choice for my post-production work. I'm glad I got it, its a great computer. Why would build a windows computer if none of the software I use would run on it?
And yes I do wish apple would put out a normal desktop targeted at the normal consumer and gaming. I think it would be a great move. However the mac pro is not targeted at the gaming market. It would be useless if it was as no games would run on it unless you dual boot, which is stupid. Just build a cheaper windows gaming machine.
