I don't think its that rare, although it is definetly a minority.
The problem with internet anonymity is that people aren't held accountable and are given free reign to ignore the ramifactions of lack of critical thought.

While true, I have to question the authenticity of a person if he/she only uses critical thinking skills as a social "mask" etc.

Well thats the beauty of reasoning, its objective so you don't need an authetic source to derive it.
