Sometimes the court may order the losing side to pay for the winning sides attorney fees as well. In other countries like the UK, the losing side always has to pay for the winning sides fees. So in this case, if Philips has sued Nintendo in Europe, then they may have to pay Nitendo for the costs they incurred if they lose.  

That's good. I didn't know that. I am ignorant about anything lawsuit/court related. But, that seems to me to be more than fair. I like your mario kart avatar, I can't wait for that game!
