Wild ARMs is my favourite JRPG series ever. No other series was consistently good across as many games as that (Final Fantasy was great for a streak but then tailed off for quite some time before picking up again).
The saddest thing about the current state of JRPG's is that there's very little "mid tier" stuff left. No Breath of Fire; no Suikoden; no Wild ARMs... things like Tales or Ni no Kuni survive but they're few and far between.
As a result, I've been turning to more niche JRPG's for my fix. And they're much better than I was ever expecting them to be, in all honesty.

1. Wild ARMs
2. Final Fantasy
3. Tales of
4. Atelier
5. Breath of Fire
6. Ys
I've also enjoyed games in series like Grandia; Star Ocean; Arc the Lad; Legend of Heroes & Hyperdimension Neptunia series but haven't played enough to qualify them making the list yet.
