Fact is, it would need to be substantially cheaper than PS4 to make a dent and overcome its lasting negative press. Same reason why Wii U even after all the awesome games of holidays 2013 (and upcoming MK8) still won't rebound to massive success. The negative press in the beginning and the collective thought of "doomed" simply outweigh all else.
