First couple of years? I disagree with you, but it may be just our taste in games are differnt. I think they did fine for most of the years of the 360's life. So what are some of the examples of Sony trying to push out something new? They have done plenty of copying as well.

2005-2008 was the height of the Xbox 360's first party. The decline started from 2009-2013.

I enjoyed their first part offerings for longer than that, but to each their own. Now what about the second part?

What the media says really doesn't mean much. You can find comments in the media going either way depending on where you look and what you are looking for. This is especailly true with the internet. Any site can post pretty much anything and most of the times, it is just an opinion piece.
