I don't see any reason for me to ever own a mac. I use XP for games, and an OS superior to OSX for everything else *points to sig*...AND I have control over what hardware I have in my computer, at least with my desktop.
My laptop also runs linux/xp, but it has a discreet video card that is passable (8400M gs) for games like TF2, etc. If I wanted discreet graphics on a mac laptop...I'd be spending around $2000, minimum. Guess how much I spent on my laptop? $650. You might argue that my 1.4ghz C2D in my lappy is nowhere near as fast as the proc in the macbook pro, but you can find laptops with similar specs for around $500 less than the macs.
The whole argument that I keep hearing from people of mac hardware being superior or somehow 'different' than PC hardware is totally bunk. They use the same kind of hardware everyone else uses, only they charge more for it. One could argue that OSX is superior to windows (and it is in some ways), but why not go all the way and use linux instead?
