PC - mac vs. pc - View Post

@TotalWar23:
let me put it in simple terms. You are saying a custom built gaming rig is better then Apples gaming rig, when Apple does not sell a computer for gaming. yea, they have some token games, but have you ever heard Apple advertise it's computers for gaming? No. They want you to buy them for all the other crap. For all that other stuff, Apples rock. I have a PC for gaming. I have a Mac for everything else.

So of course it's not fit for the task. It was never meant to be.

Oh, and I only put 2 gig because you never buy ram from Apple. it's way overpriced. Ram is Ram. It's the same Ram you would put in any PC, so there is no price break on either side after the first 2Gig (the min you can get that Mac with)

@BenKenobi88
Just an FYI. All Macs have at least Dual cores. (there top ones have 8)

As for your overpriced comment about there general purpose Mac. The closest they make, that anyone would want to game on, is the 24" IMac. It's $1,800.

If you put all that together from NewEgg, it would come to $1,610. That's a home built, do it yourself. Putting it all together, and only saving $190 (and it's still missing stuff, like built in Bluetooth, and firewire 800 ports), is not coming in "Much Less". Forget the elegance of the Mac case and simplicity of hookup. It's not to be overlooked. I would never have a desktop in my kitchen, but a iMac I might (I used a MacBook in the kitchen, so no desktop at all).

Anyway, for gaming, there is no better choice then Windows on a home built PC running XP or Vista (I like Vista). I am not arguing that. I am just arguing against putting what Apple has to offer against custom built gaming rigs, when Apple doesn't even try to compete in that market.
