I'm convinced some politicians just want this to be another Vietnam. Being there too long though is a problem. My cousin is on his third tour over there. I hate seeing that because he's a young married man who should be spending time with his wife, but thats not how it is. How thinly stretched our troops are is a huge problem, no denying that one. And seriously, Saddam was gonna get overthrown, it just depended on who the President was. He had enough UN sanctions against him, no one else wanted to deal with it. The rest of the world wanted it to happen even if they won't admit it. And there for the cheap oil idea, yeah, I'm really feeling the cheap oil right now... |
Yeah. The real problem won't be deaths... it'll be the big problems with when the soldiers get back. Experts I know in the post traumatic distress disorder think the people with mental problems from Iraq will far exceed that of even vietnam.
Good thing the Vet healtcare system has gotten really good at doing a lot more with a lot less funding.
Hah, reminds me of when I was watching C-Span one time... and a democratic senator was greatly argueing with the head of the VA that he wasn't asking for enough money for something he wanted to do. Argueing he should do all sorts of research and such...
That was an odd moment.
