Honestly, i dont see how "gamers" lose at all on this. If anything the multi-media fans lose on this. There is no Star trek here. In star trek you give instructions to a computer AI, not a games console.
Also, motion controls have been around for many years now and have only proved that they were a fad. You let your dreams overcome your perception of reality. Its not very different from what some are doing with VR goggle technology. This is not what you want it to be.
