You weren't using it right, because it was Charizard's best move without question. If you hit with the full move (get them in the center of the rock) it did something stupid like 40% damage in one shot. The move is slow, but of you use it rightly it's pretty safe because of the large hit box. If they could hit Charizard before the rock came out, there's still a chance they'll be hit by the shards. Plus, the move had good knockback. Glad it's still in. Would have rather had flare blitz as his down b but what could you do.
