We are in agreement btw. My point is, a character is always complex, but that doesn't mean all of that character trait ,principles , motivation can't be simple and straightforward. So, what if you create this character in Dragon's Dogma, then choose to stab yourself and gave your pawn a human life, thus breaking the ever-turning wheel? Wouldn't you say that, even if short-lived and simple, even hollow at times, the character is complex? He's able to take such a choice, even if he's merely controled by the real player?
@Bolded, yes, yes you do. Those are games on which choices truly matter, and the funniest thing of all, is that sometimes you make choices without you even realizing it.
