Wow, it seems like there are a lot of people discovering Firefly for the first time.
I too just finished watching the first season on DVD, a week after I got it on Amazon. I was in Best Buy today and was going to buy the collector's edition of Serenity, but that was sold out so I'll have to revert back to online. With all that said, I loved it and thought it was brilliant. I find that the shows I tend to like are usually the ones with the best scripts, and Firefly has that in spades.
OT: It seems that another Fox-canceled show has gone the way of Firefly and earned a feature film sequel due to fan support. http://www.imdb.com/title/tt0901469/ Arrested Development is also really strong in the witty dialogue department.
