Why not both?

Microsoft is smart for dropping an optional feature that has few applications.

Nintendo is smart for not abandoning the core aspect of their system that sets it apart from the other systems.

nintendo is doing it right for the gamer. the gamepad is just nice.

Pretty much.

Gamepad is more essential to its respective platform than Kinect as well.

Current efforts suggest not surely? There isn't much notable that uses Gamepad and I see a lot of people claiming it's useless.

@ THE1 - Yeah lets see if they announce some really integrel gamepad stuff!

A lot of people claiming it's useless probably have not played the games that are using the gamepad or have some other grudge against the WiiU.

A lot of people claiming the Kinect is/was useless probably never used it.

I predict NX launches in 2017 - not 2016
