Those were the days, walking into a store, browsing the shelves and a new NFS is out, great! I've bought plenty of games on box art alone too, or just because it said cloth map included inside (boxed pc games were always fun) I didn't know anything about Final fantasy or Zelda when I gave FF7 and OOT a try. Baldur's gate, Dungeon keeper cool box.

PS+ now provides that discovery experience. Knytt undergound, never heard of it, total surprise how much fun it was. Indie games are pretty fun like that anyway, usually all I know about them is from scanning half a review, buy it and play it the same day, for example Closure, Anti chamber, Fract OSC. That pleasant surprise is something AAA games can't deliver anymore. At least not when you frequent gaming sites, no matter how careful you are.

I remember getting Chrono Trigger with no clue what it was and my jaw dropping at the trial scene.  That game probably blew my mind half a dozen times playing it.
