Why have a friend who only seems to enjoy degrading what you enjoy? There's no point to it. I don't really understand the sentiment, when you absolutely have the option of surrounding yourself with more reasonable and pleasant people.
If you think he's taken a turn for the worse or to odd behavior you should address that with him. But if he was always kinda like this... well I probably wouldn't be there.
