720P or 1080i

I can change the Wii U to 1080P settings but my TV settings doesn't allow me to click a 1080P option. The Wii U recommends having it set to the same settings as your Tv.

Most Tv shows don't support 1080P though so if I set the Wii U to 1080P and my Tv to 720P will the Wii U show 1080P anyway because my Tv apparently supports it?

Well, according to teh internets, your TV should automatically change to 1080p cause it decides it based on the signal its recieving... And at the worst case senario... You can use the gamepad to change it back to 720p lolll (See people, the gamepad is handy)
