Underrated/Overlooked games that became overrated

I agree with Earthbound.  Either these people really liked the real world look to it, which is the reason I like it as much as I do and it's still not even in my top 50 RPG line up, or they've played few games in  the genre.  Also before people reply to my comment of "few" they need to look what gen we're in and how many RPGs have been released.  You've played 30 RPGs?  Congrats, there's almost 30 games in the FF series alone.  There's hundreds of RPGs just on consoles outside of those.

Well, Earthbound is pretty different from a lot of JRPGs (and obviously many western ones), so someone who prefers it may not even be interested in over half of those other hundreds of RPG releases over the years. I mean when it comes down to it no one can play every game and tell you the best, but we can all appreciate a great game.

Anyways, I was just going to say I recommend playing the translation of Mother 3 if you did like Earthbound. Don't want to build it up but I think I like it better. Though I did also play it before Earthbound.
