I suggest that you get the old 1000 model, because of the better colours definition, if it even cost less then there's no hesitation...

But then, there's an extra hour or so of battery, a more responsive buttons as i've been told, a thinner and lighter model, plus an internal 1Gb of storage which is heaven for people going Physical Only. But there's that gorgeous OLED on the other hand, I wish someone with both versions could enlighten us more about it and give a definitive (personal) verdict.

I had the original OLED model, but something went wrong with the battery and it had to be replaced with one of the 2000 models. Having had both, there's quite clearly a difference in colour definition when moving from OLED to LCD. On the other hand, I appreciate how much lighter the new models are, and how much more comfortable they are to use - the back grips are much better proportioned on the new models (something that sounds boring, but is kind of undersold, it was a big improvement for me). I also find the new model easier to clean and I prefer the circular start, select, PS button. The improvement to battery life is also a plus.

So, as someone who had both, I would say if you can handle the downgrade in colour, the other features touted by the slim make it the preferable system to me.
