yeah but now we know that they are happy to fuck us in the arse if they ever become dominant in the console market and thats why they will never get a penny from me. While they did a 180 on their plans as far as X1 is concerned, they made their long term intentions clear and many people will remember that for a long time.
The DRM thing got plenty of coverage in mainstream media too, so even a large chunk of people who were not gamers must have read about it. Even if they forgot, the truth is that they wont be buying as many games and bringing in as much money as the 'informed gamer' will anyway. Building a product around the loyalty of the informed gamer will always be a more successful strategy than relying on the ignorance of the casuals.
