You're right, you can just live in denial! 
And idk what you're talking about but I've been on topic! The reason the OP is saying the Wii U rides on Mario Kart 8 is because MK8 will most likely be the single biggest thing saleswise that comes to the system. Yes, bigger than Smash Bros, bigger than Animal Crossing, bigger than Metroid, and certainly bigger than Zelda. If Mario Kart 8 can't change the Wii U's trajectory, it's not likely anything else can.
