Didn't you all expect this? Microsoft doing the DRM thing hurt them with consumers, but it was gold for them with third parties. I don't know if Sony can even recover at this point because I guarantee you that they were supposed to go the DRM route too. I think Sony stabbed third parties in the back this gen. Sony can't afford to buy any exclusives either, so Microsoft can buy them wholesale this gen.

E3 this year is going to be an ENORMOUS peak into whether Sony will keep their lead this gen. Either third parties have no choice but to go back and develop for Sony, or they continue throwing tonnes of exclusives at Microsoft forcing people to buy Xbox Ones. This is the E3 we find that out in. Worst case scenario Sony is cut out of even the basic third party games like Assassin's Creed, EA Sports games, etc.

Please tell us how you guarantee that. Please, go ahead. I'm curious what inside information you have, because there is no other way you can make such a statement.

Stabbed themselves in the back? In what way? Has EA announced games that are not coming to ps4? Has Activision? Any company that has not been moneyhatted by (or received funding from) MS? There is currently absolutely no  public proof to back up your theory and all it comes off is wishful thinking.

But, please prove me wrong with concrete evidence.

There is no concrete evidence, this is a forum where we discuss opinions.  If you are looking for concrete then go to first party sources because you can't ask for that with a straight face on a forum like this....  You should know that.

I say that Sony was supposed to have DRM as well because everyone seemed shocked  that they didn't have it, including the developers.  Everyone thought DRM was going standard this gen.  It was an unpopular agreement that pretty much everyone agreed was going to happen.  Look at the reaction to Sony announcing they weren't going the DRM route.  Developers everywhere were dumbfounded by it.  One developer even said something along the lines of "Microsoft didn't back out of DRM because of the whining fans, they did it because Sony forced them to. "  I'm not gonna look up the damned quotes for you, if you care that much then go ahead.

My second point is just a theory based on the massive number of exclusives Microsoft has and the utterly piss-poor line-up of exclusives Sony has.  Their best games are stuff that they stole from Nintendo's third party exclusives list and Japanese games which Microsoft has no hope in hell of gaining traction with.  Its a theory grounded in my previous statement supported by the massive number of third party exclusives Microsoft has.  I even state that it will either be proven true or false at E3 when the next years exclusives are announced.  If its another Microsoft bonanza then that will be your proof.

I see. In that case, you most certainly cannot guarantee that Sony had similar plans,as you stated. As I suspected.

Of course Sony forced MS to drop their initial policies. That does not mean Sony did have similar plans.

Yes, this is a forum and we make predictions and have theories. However, it's one thing to present a theory and a completely different to say "I guarantee it", since you have absolutely no evidence to support this. Had an EA representative said "Sony ensured us that they would have x policies and then change their minds", then you would have a case. At the moment, there is nothing to suggest that.

As for the exclusives. Piss poor? Well, you're entitled to your own opinion, but just because you find these games "piss poor", it doesn't mean that it represents the general consensus. It's also not a proper argument. Because following this logic I can call anything I want as "garbage" and get away with it. "MS exclusives? Meh. They all suck" (based on what?). The only game that could be considered "piss poor" is Knack. Killzone and Infamous have had overall positive reviews. And that does not even include non-retail games that are considered excellent (such as resogun). Again, just because you don't like them, it doesn't mean they're "piss poor".

Here's what's factually incorrect with your previous post. Please read again what you wrote:

"I don't know if Sony can even recover at this point"

"I think Sony stabbed third parties in the back this gen"

"Either third parties have no choice but to go back and develop for Sony, or they continue throwing tonnes of exclusives at Microsoft"

Please give some examples of Third parties turning their back on Sony. Which third party game is not being released on ps4 which could be interpreted as them turning their back on Sony? Which are these "tonnes of exclusives" that  they will  continue  throwing at MS?
Titanfall? A game funded by MS? Sunset Overdrive? A game funded by MS? Which tonnes of gameS are you talking about?

Had you said that about wiiu, it would make sense. Most Ea games are skipping wiiu. To my knowledge not a single game is not being released on ps4 that is not part of a deal that MS has made with a developer.

So what exactly do you mean by "go back" and "recover"? They never left.
