Xbox 360: 54 PS3: 52 Thats a quick count of the number of 90+ games each console has on metacritic. Now the last thing I want to do is get into a war about what the cut off should be, whether indies should be included, whether timed-exclusive counts etc. The point this does very quickly and easily make though, is that any suggestion of a large quality and quantity advantage in favour of PS3 is a complete myth (especially when you consider that attachment rates for both consoles wound up between 5-8). |
We know that Metacritic isn't a good way to rule this... and I'm not even sure what is the point in discussing which had more good or exclusive games when most people won't even get close to 60+ games in one gen... average in 10, so since there are guys like us that buy 100-200 games per console them normal folks are in the range you mentioned 5-8 so there is plenty of good games for them on gen 7 and even in gen 8... in X1 or PS4 you could buy 3 really good games and for a regular guy that is half the libary he will have.
