S.T.A.G.E. said: The F2P part is conditional only to single player. Multiplayer isnt free. Its a much fairer trade because with with all of the stuff PSN+ already gives you, the PSN Plus version of the game offers 10 cars, 11 tracks while having access to all of the games modes. Everything else must be purchased for $49.99. With Killer Instinct, you get one character (which is subject to change at the developers leisure) and access to all modes and versus access to only one stage until you buy or earn more stages, which are still less than what Sony is already giving you. I wasnt about to pay MS $40 for all of the content when I know I am enough of a fighting fan to take on the challenges when I have the free time to unlock everything myself. In conclusion, you have 50+ cars and 50+ tracks so...really its not really much to bitch about. If they give us shitty cars....then its time to bitch, but we know nothing yet. 50+ cars is too small of a collection to give people 1/5 of your crappiest. It will probably take Microsoft three seasons of Killer Instinct to even reach twenty-four characters with twenty four levels. Theres absolutely no reason for anyone to be alarmed when we know this model has been coming. At least PSN+ gives you ten cars for the subscription price and ten dollars off of the actual price had you not had plus in the first place. |
Ignoring the fact that you're comparing a fighter to a racer, the issue here isn't the amount of content being given. You can get that KI demo version without paying MS one penny. You have to pay to access the PS+ version of #Driveclub. I would hope it has more content.
The issue is the paid content after upgrading being locked behind a paywall for no good reason. You bitched a lot last gen about how bad it is that MS "locks MP away" behind the Live paywall. Following that logic, you should be irate that Sony is going to lock not only MP content but single player content as well. But you're making excuses for it and rationalizing it.
That was a crap load of text you typed trying to connect these two games. Just look at it in a simple manner. Both the free version of KI and the PS+ edition of #Driveclub are both essentially demos trying to get you to buy the full game. Only with #Driveclub if you upgrade you don't really get the full game, you get a rental of the full game for a whopping $50. It's a huge difference and one that makes no sense. I am still convinced it's a misunderstanding and will be until Kenny K himself confirms they went this silly route.
