i didn't want to be that guy either  but i have to agree.  there is something missing to make if feel awesome.  the characters and music feel,.. generic.  honestly, that was the same thing that turned me off to resistance. 

yes exactly. Same feeling from resistance. I've never liked that series. However, this is definitely an improvement, it feels at least 50% less generic (not to be silly). But there's still something I can't quite shake.
