I'm not purchasing this game, waiting until one that actually pushes the PS4's power, but hopefully they fix how stupid the coaches are in Road to the Show. I played MLB 13 The Show and was a pitcher. For quite awhile they put me in as a relief pitcher for one inning, sometimes with only one player to knock out when bases are loaded. As soon as I get that guy out without any hits and not getting scored on, I was replaced, and then after next inning whoever their new relief pitcher to the end of the game, they got several more runs scored on them.
Then when I finally became a starting pitcher I'd get to the end of the game with no runs scored often, they'd switch me out and our team would lose because the relief pitcher gave away run after run. Or sometimes, same scenario, no scores but a few hits on me, or a one run on me but doing well the rest of the time, again, pulled out and we'd be massacred because of the relief pitchers.
If you're looking to be a starting pitcher, you'll have to go through being repeatedly screwed over by the coaching AI for even minor mistakes.
MLB The Show has a lot of modes though. There's a few modes where you're the coach and can play as the team or the AI plays as the teams or controls as the coach. There's an online Diamond Dynasty where you draft players and trade player cards online to build up your team and play against teams that people online have built up. It's probably the most feature filled sports game I've ever played, though I haven't played any other sportsgames in a long time.
