That isn't an entirely fair assessment, considering that NSMBU sold around 3 mil. + on it's own, long BEFORE the bundle surfaced a year after launch. And the fact of the matter is, it would have likely sold more than that, if Nintendo had not been short-sighted enough to release NSMB2 on 3DS mere months before. They should have released the two games MUCH farther apart. In fact, I'll even go so far as to say that NSMBU should have come out first, because it would have had a lot more enthusiasm over it as a 2013 stand-alone. As it was, the NSMB line was feeling oversaturated, and even though U was a great (see: better) game, it still did worse than it could have, because Nintendo accidentally sabatoged it with NSMB2's prior release.
