I cannot believe you guys drink much soda anyways as it is highly correlated with obesity. Water, coffee, booze and juice is what you need.

Also, I do not think one American finds the jokes about obesity funny. Many people are slim and in great shape here. Many are really fat too, it varies depending on the state and city. And from what I have seen, all Western countries are getting more obese from Canada, Australia and even Europe. One thing that differentiates America from most of the world is our food is really cheap compared to other countries. Making it cheap and easy to over indulge.

You are fooling yourself if you believe the price of food is the main factor. First of all, food in America isn't all that cheap, it's much, much cheaper in many parts of Europe. Also, the second most obese country in the world is Mexico - I don't believe you can justify it with this reason.

The problem in America is the lack of a real traditional cuisine. It just happens so, that if we Europeans eat according to our traditional cuisine, we won't get fat. Be it Italian, Spanish, Polish or German ones. They are perfect for their respective climate, healthy and won't get us fat. The problem comes when people eat too much fast food, drink soda and get no exercise - so pretty much follow the American diet.

Make that the #1 most obese nation in the world. Last I checked, thdy passed us Americans by a while back - unless we tipped the scales back our way while I wasn't looking.

OT: Ive never watched what i eat, could go months without exercising, and dspent hours lounging around, but Ive never been fat. Unfortunately, I currently work a physically taxing job, where I end upup having to walk several miles each day. I've actually had to dramatically increase my food intake to survive. I don't drink much soda, though. Only maybe a 16oz bottle or 8oz can each week. Koolaid on the other hand...
