Yep I had a ton of friends. Always had someone to hang out with from gangsta's, jocks, and everyone else in between.
Funny thing is though, no matter how many friends you had in school you will probably only keep a few. Of the 100's of people I would of easily called my friends in school, I only associate with 4 now, 14 years after graduation.
