Prime isn't canon, so it's actually one of the less detailed stories in video games.

And even if Prime was...each series with books and comics accompanying the games has a deeper lore than Metroid. Hell, each series where the games have more than an excuse plot has a more detailed story than Metroid.

Metroid is an excellent series, but if you truly believe what you just wrote I have no option but to suspect you've only played Nintendo games in your entire life (which isn't a criticism btw, just an observation).

I also don't think it'll sit too well with the mods if you continue to insult other members.

Okay, what determines whether or not Prime is canon?

"Metroid Prime Series (in order of in-game timeline):
The Metroid Prime series is a separate collection of games featuring Samus Aran which has a different concept and game design to Metroid games."

http://gonintendo.com/?p=134762

The Prime games have an own timeline and are listed seperately from the other games, together with stuff like Metroid Prime Pinball.

That does not suggest Prime is noncanon, all it says is Prime gameplay wise and story is unrelated to the other games. Prime is just kind of there between Metroid and Metroid II with it's own story.

The PR statement even suggests that with the Metroid II line, why would it say "Following her previous adventures, the Galactic Federation decides the Metroids are too dangerous to be allowed to live...", without Prime in the mix the statement doesn't make any sense since the events of Metroid is the only adventure Samus has been on before this, I doubt Nintendo would choose the wording they did if they wanted to imply Prime is noncanon.
