Yep, the PS360 variants had to run low res to maintain high framerate.
These new consoles are capable of better, but going above 720p on XB1 is a mistake if it leads to bad AA/screen tearing/etc.
720p native @ 720p output (disabling upscaling) is best for XB1 @ 60fps if it means that decent AA and detail can be maintained.
If this comes out at 800p, but isn't a solid 60fps, and has tearing/artifacts, then I'm going to be sitting here saying 'WHY!!? You stupid bastards! @ devs'.
It just feels like a PR move. 'Higher than 720p' checkboxed for arbitrary reasons that degrade both visuals and game smoothness.
