800p is just stupid honestly. Nobody has an 800p TV for one thing, so it will have to be upscaled = bleh. Upscaling never looks as good as native. Native 720p @ 720 is superior to XXXP upscaled to 1080.
Not to mention that if they can add some nice AA, 720p can look better than a crappily done higher resolution.
Resolution isn't the sole thing that makes graphics better. Not even close. I'm not saying that to defend XB1 being weaker, because it goes without saying that anything the XB1 can do, the PS4 will do a bit better anyway (AA, resolution, framerate, etc), as long as the coding is done properly.
So yes : give me native 720p with well done AA 8 days a week over 792p/800p/etc with garbage AA and screen tearing, yadda yadda. PLEASE.
